For nearly two decades, Joshua Lucas has been a driving force in Toronto’s music and entertainment scene. Known in the community as “the Future,” he has taken on the role of cultural preserver, keeping authentic Jamaican music and culture alive through deejaying, live music, event promotion, and production.

As a selecta he has shared stages with international heavyweights including Shabba Ranks, Koffee, Yellowman, and Marcia Griffiths. His reach extends well beyond the reggae community too, spinning for corporate clients like Bell Canada, Revera Living, and CIBC, along with weddings, private functions, and school events across the city.

Joshua is also a working musician, serving as bassist and musical director for JUNO winning artist Kirk Diamond. As the owner of Avalanche Productions and the mind behind his own signature events, he continues to preserve and push the culture forward, one set at a time.
